Steph Worrell
Hello, from Stephanie!
“It seems like forever,” I’ve been slowly climbing Mount Hormones located somewhere between perimenopause and menopause. Most days I can see the path straight to the top, but things like forgetfulness, confusion, weight gain, extreme fatigue, tripping over long, grey whiskers and general bitchiness keep me from scurrying up to the top and capturing the elusive flag marked, “It’s Over!”
Sound familiar?
Obsessed with internet medical diagnosis and attending “stage 40 something lunches” to seek answers from other women, I have become extremely frustrated with the lack of consistent information on the topic of “the change.” But one thing I have learned for sure is that I’m not alone, and because there seems to be no one great place to turn to for information– it all smells of conspiracy to me. Okay, that could just be my hormones talking!
I’ve struggled with my weight since I was a teenager, so the relationship between food choices and wellness has become of great interest to me. During certain periods in my life when I have eaten healthfully and exercised , I have seen the direct relationship between sick and well as it relates to my lifestyle choices. Especially, when it comes to my hormonal swings. “Apples and Oranges” now seem to be directly related to my mood, weight, sex, sleep and the general rock and roll of my life—and, that fascinates me.
Although “this change” seems to dominate my life on many days, I am a wife, the mother of two lovely children and an accomplished professional in the field of public relations. I live in Boise, Idaho, but I enjoy traveling often with my family to the ends of the earth and reading about the rest. There is something to be said for distractions!
Welcome to my site. I’m so glad you’re here. 🙂
